Move over Percy Jackson. Find out what everybody is talking about!
Have you ever gotten hopelessly lost in a strange land? Talked to an elephant? Ridden a magic carpet? Been jailed by an angry parrot? And discovered that you have the power to change the world?
Zoe & Zak hadn’t either. But that was before their lives were turned upside down by a mysterious creature called the Ghost Leopard. Now, they find themselves attending a strange school high in the Himalayan foothills, where nothing is what it seems and anything is possible. The Zoe & Zak Adventures contains the first three full books of the middle grade fantasy adventure series, where two semi-normal kids begin to live absolutely extraordinary lives. In Book One, The Ghost Leopard, Zoe & Zak take their first trip to India where they learn that they’ve been chosen to protect a mythical creature from a terrible fate. In Book Two, The Yogi’s Curse, Zoe & Zak are back in India, this time to attend Moonstock Academy, a strange and sometimes frightening boarding school where weird events seem to occur on a regular basis. And in Book Three, The Tiger Temple, Zoe & Zak take on their second semester at Moonstock and their most terrifying challenge yet. If you love to laugh out loud, if you like adventure, and if you’re dying to go on the wildest ride on this side of the Himalayas, pick up the Zoe & Zak Adventures today. Now Available as a Compendium: The three book collection contains the complete text of first three books in the Zoe & Zak series. Together, these books are guaranteed to bring you to a magical world unlike any you’ve experienced before. Find out what everybody is talking about.

Message From The Author: Elsa Takaoka

Elsa Takaoka, AuthorOn the first day of National Poetry Month in April of 2014, I set the goal of writing a poem a day. My little girls and I would sit at the kitchen table - my five year-old doodled and my one year-old scribbled while Mommy wrote. As I struggled to find inspiration, I would occasionally glance at my eldest girl, who has been a doodling machine since the age of two and will often draw pictures for hours. Her doodles contained many of her favorite things: twins and mermaids, princesses and pets. But on closer inspection, they also contained stories of brave and bold little girls -girls with real feelings who fought, made-up, cried and got angry. These girls sailed ships, fought beasts and were pirates. These girls were tender and caring, who doodled and read. Her art contained REAL little girls- imaginative, clever and able to do anything they set their minds to. My hope is that I was able to crawl into the mind of a child and bottle up even a bit of the innocent yet powerful confidence of clever little girls everywhere.

      Lil' Mess Dress Giveaway

Si and Roo Lil' Mess Dress
I'm excited to be hosting Si and Roo's first Lil' Mess Dress Giveaway ($32.00 value)! Si and Roo will be giving away one Ocean Dreams Lil' Mess Dress in the winner's choice of size!

The Lil' Mess Dress is one adorably, tough little dress! It was designed in July, 2014 and has already received an endorsement by PTPA (Parent Tested Parent Approved)!

I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to test the dress prior to the company launching. It is adorable and lives up to its name! I had my three year old eat pasta, roll in the southern red clay mud, and even smear mustard and ketchup all over the dress. Everything came off in the wash! I was so impressed! The material is soft and comfortable. The ruffles on the bottom make it fun to wear. And the colors are bright and cheerful.

LIL' MESS DRESS - OCEAN DREAMS DESCRIPTION
This Lil' Mess Dress is part of Si and Roo's Signature Collection. It was inspired by the beautiful oceans of Key Biscayne. Dinner on the beach will never be a mess with our beautiful Ocean top detailed with two rows of Fuchsia ruffles. It all stuffs into a Ocean colored bag for easy travel.
      Ocean Dreams Lil' Mess Dress

      ABOUT SI AND ROO:
Si and Roo was founded in 2014 by Shawn Ostrower, a loving mom of two and an educational psychologist who has developed literary and developmental programs for Independent and Charter School Districts. And that's just the beginning! Shawn Ostrower has worked with non-profit companies providing early intervention services and CPSE evaluations for low-income families, and also founded Educate2learn.

Being an entrepreneurial mom, Shawn found a need for a product that was attractive to her children and would keep their clothes clean. It had to be portable, breathable, water resistant, and safe. After scouring the internet she was unsatisfied with the limited options. The smocks were unappealing and bibs were not developmentally appropriate. In July 2014, on her personal sewing machine the Lil' Mess Dress was born. The Super Mess Maker was soon to follow. With these two new products, we offer parents and children a fun, innovative, and developmentally appropriate way to stay clean.

      MY REVIEW

I personally read the first book in the Noah Zarc trilogy and found it an adventurous read! Time travel, robots, spaceships and more! I became a huge fan of the main character, an amazingly courageous twelve year old 'paraplegic' boy named Noah whose disability never stopped him from doing anything he set his mind too. And as a mom with a daughter living with a disability (type 1 diabetes) all you want is help them achieve their potential and go after their dreams. Even though my daughters disease isn't physical, like Noah's, it does affect her physical ability to be able to play sports and reach her intellectual and physical potential. Noah encourages all kids to perservere!

Now about the author. Amazing! The Zarc family relationship reminded me a lot of mine. There was trust, worry, responsibility and lots of sibling sarcasm. His ability to connect multiple time periods and his creative ability in making you feel like you actually are part of the story will make this a fun read for any kid. As such, I give it a....

      BIG THUMBS UP!

The Buzz About the Noah Zarc Books

Book 1: "Pease's strength as a storyteller lies in his ability to connect multiple time periods imaginatively, as well as Noah's excited, fast-paced narration." ~ Publishers Weekly
Book 1: "If I had read this book at age 10, I think it would have made me love SF just as much as reading Asimov did. If you like the non-stop action and humor of Rick Riordan's Olympians books, I think you'll also like Noah Zarc." ~ Sher A. Hart, book blogger and author
Book 2: "This is another great mind-bender. The wild time jump details are fabulously thought out and cause some unexpected results." ~ Michelle Isenhoff, Children's Author
Book 2: "A well-written, adventurous read for young readers and even adults, Noah Zarc blasts through space and into your imagination." ~ TKristufek, Amazon Reviewer
Book 3: "I was completely captured by the characters, the action and the issues and questions: set in fantasy but integrating concepts and engaging readers with a fun tale that teaches as it entertains." ~ Gaele, Amazon Reviewer

About the Author: D. Robert Pease

      D. Robert Pease

      D. Robert Pease has been interested in creating worlds since childhood. From building in the sandbox behind his house, to drawing fantastical worlds with paper and pencil, there has hardly been a time he hasn't been off on some adventure in his mind, to the dismay of parents and teachers alike. Also, since the moment he could read, books have consumed vast swaths of his life. From The Mouse and the Motorcycle, to The Lord of the Rings, worlds just beyond reality have called to him like Homer's Sirens. It's not surprising then he chose to write stories of his own. Each filled with worlds just beyond reach, but close enough we can all catch a glimpse of ourselves in the characters he brings to life.

      The Buzz

"Experience is the best teacher as Billy and his "purple shadow" learn a sweet lesson in Billy and the Monster Who Ate All the Easter Eggs. Beautifully illustrated, nicely formatted, this quick, easy story will be read over and over again." ~ 5 Star Review, Julia B., Amazon
"My daughter has really been enjoying David Chuka's Billy and Monster books. This is another fun addition to the "family." As always, the story has a lovely moral (this time teaching the value of moderation - definitely the biggest word in the book)! It's based on the very realistic theme of overindulging in chocolate/sweets, which virtually anyone can relate to and which kids find a lot of fun. And, awesome pictures as always. Definitely recommend it." ~ 5 Star Review, Renee B., Amazon

"I really like the little monster in this book and how they get into trouble together. What child hasn't snuck into the cache of candies that their parents have hidden? Cute story with a lesson for the little ones in your family!" ~ 5 Star Review, Patricia T., Amazon
"This is a cute story about a little boy Billy and his funny friend Monster. They love chocolate so much that they forget about obeying to older. At night, they sneaked to the chocolate egg pyramid, started eating the chocolate eggs and made a big mess. On the morning, they not only got in a big trouble, but they also got a bad stomach pain. They both had to learn a lessons about MODERATION. Nice illustrations, book well written." ~ 5 Star Review, OPV, Amazon
"Billy and his monster friend enjoy lots of fun in this book, filled with great pictures and a cute story. It shares a lot about celebrating holidays, and intertwines humor and family love throughout the story. Hidden in the story is a nice message about eating in moderation, a well needed lesson in our culture of over-eating. Billy ends up being proud of himself and makes good decisions by the end of the book, while all the while sharing some adventures with his cute monster friend. Great read to share with your children or grandchildren year round, not just for the Easter holiday." ~ 5 Star Review, Katie W., Amazon
